Coaching Career Prior to Salisbury
Lord came home to SU after 12 seasons as the head softball coach at Washington College. Lord turned a program around that had only four winning seasons and one Centennial Conference Tournament appearance in their previous 24 seasons to a perennial contender in the Centennial. A three-time Centennial Conference Coach of the Year, Lord made seven trips to the Centennial Tournament including a historic 2013 season for the Shorewomen.
The 2013 season brought the Shorewomen their first Centennial Conference Championship and their first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament with a program-record of 27 wins. The 2013 team became the first Washington College women's team to win an NCAA Tournament game.
Playing Career
Lord was one of the most dominant pitchers in all of Division III softball during the four years she donned the maroon and gold. She was a four-time All-American, four-time All-Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) First Team selection, four CAC Championships, 2003 CAC Rookie of the Year and three-time CAC Player of the Year winning the award from 2004-06. She holds the SU all-time pitching wins and strikeout record with 105 wins and 1,096 strikeouts. When she ended her career in 2006, she finished third in Division III in career strikeouts and tied for fourth in career wins.
She began her coaching career as an assistant under Coach Knight in 2007 at the end of her playing career and spent two seasons on staff as the pitching coach, coordinating practices and recruiting.
In 2007, Lord became the fifth person in school history to have their jersey retired as her number 14 hangs in the hallway of Maggs Physical Activities Center. She was inducted into the SU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2017.

Nate Parsley enters his fourth season as the head coach of the Salisbury University men's and women's swimming programs in 2024-25. He is also an assistant coach for the Salisbury University softball team.

Coaching Career Prior to Salisbury
Parsley served as the head men's and women's swim coach and aquatics director at Arcadia University from 2017-20. The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Coach of the Year in 2020, Parsley guided the men's and women's swim teams to three consecutive top-three finishes at the MAC Championships from 2018-20, 625 personal records, 40 program records, six MAC records, 14 Lenox Pool records, 14 MAC champions and three NCAA Division III B cuts.
At Arcadia, Parsley amassed a 57-12 record with a .826 winning percentage. The men's and women's teams set program records for most dual-meet wins in a single season. The women's team finished the 2017-18 seasons undefeated with an 11-0 mark while the men went 9-0-1 in the 2020 season.
Prior to Arcadia, Parsley was the assistant men's and women's swim coach at Rowan University from 2013-15 and at Haddonfield High School from 2012-13.
Parsley also has experience coaching softball, serving as the first full-time assistant with the Rowan Profs since the spring of 2020, as well as a part-time assistant from 2009-16. He spent time with Division I Radford as an assistant coach from 2016-17.
Personal Life
A two-year captain and a standout student-athlete during his undergraduate swim career, Parsley earned his Bachelor of Arts in education in Dec. 2012 and a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration in May 2016 from Rowan.

Marita Van Dyke enters her first season as an assistant softball coach in 2024.
Van Dyke joins Salisbury after spending the previous two seasons at Franklin (Ind.) College as an assistant coach. The Grizzlies posted an overall record of 52-33 during the time Van Dyke was in the dugout, including a program-best 31 wins during the 2023 season.
Prior to arriving at Franklin, Van Dyke served as an assistant coach at Concordia University Chicago for two seasons. She played collegiately at Concordia Chicago. where she sits first overall in both career pitching wins and the single-season RBI list.
A native of Brownsburg, Ind., Van Dyke graduated from Concordia Chicago in 2019 and 2021, first receiving a B.A. in Exercise Science and a minor in Psychology and then an M.A. in Sports Leadership.
